Tip Of The Tongue is an international performing arts project founded and directed by Anglo-Italian singer-songwriter, actor and theatre-maker Daniel Zappi .
The project aims to produce and foster work that has community at its heart and works in three main areas:
Producing professional theatre productions in Czechia and abroad
Delivering high quality educational experiences (workshops and courses) in Prague and abroad (for both youth and adults)
Running a community choir based in Prague
Recent professional productions include theatre and music shows ‘Shakespeare In Song’ and ‘Francesco, the extraordinary life of St. Francis of Assisi’, both of which have been performed around Europe and are due to be performed this summer at the Verona Shakespeare Fringe Festival (IT) and Greenbelt Festival (UK), respectively.
Tip Of The Tongue also prides itself on delivering high quality theatre projects and performing arts camps for youth, both in Prague and abroad. The emphasis is on giving young people the chance to perform in English, most recently staging original musical adaptations of Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson (Bucharest, Romania) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare (Rome and Ferrara, Italy). Easter 2026 will be particularly exciting as the company will be staging an original production ‘Fragments’ commissioned by Lanuvio (IT) Town Hall and performed by students at Leeds City College (UK) and the Castelli Romani region (IT).
As well as projects abroad, Tip Of The Tongue currently coordinates youth theatre projects in Prague, including a theatre course for students at the International School of Prague (ISP).
Last but not least…the Tip Of The Tongue Troubadours! A community choir led by Daniel Zappi and which counts 20 members to-date since being set up in January this year. The choir is a space to experience the joy of singing together, harmonising and learning songs from a wide repertoire- mainly drawn from the world of pop music- arranged by Daniel. An inclusive and multicultural space, with people from more than 10 different nationalities and of different ages, the approach to learning parts is fun and doesn’t require a knowledge of sight-reading. The Tip Of The Tip Of The Tongue Troubadours were recently invited to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Prague, for which they prepared four Irish songs, both traditional and more modern.
